Summer events in Dordogne Valley

Activities in Pompadour from April to September

Around the National Stud Farm of Pompadour — one of the most prestigious for Anglo-Arab and Arabian horse breeding — and the château granted in 1745 to the famous favorite of Louis XV with the title of Marquise, horse races and equestrian competitions take place at the racecourse and the Puy Marmont equestrian stadium from March to October.

In late September, it is the Great Week of Pompadour. Equestrian competitions bring together the elite of young eventing horses, a true equestrian triathlon combining dressage, show jumping and cross-country, as well as the Anglo-Arab national finals (conformation and gaits).

Pompadour also offers many other activities: plant festivals in May and September, Easter egg hunts in the château gardens, equestrian shows, Marquise evenings in July–August, greyhound races in September, guided tours of the national stud sites, concerts, and more.
